Case study

The case

The Musée de la Civilisation de Québec (MCQ) was searching for a solution allowing to create added value experiences in their various exhibitions and build a direct communication channel with their visitors. They reached out to the Cortex and Lg2 partnership through a call for solutions for the My MCQ mobile application.

The assignment

Cortex's mission was to create the My MCQ application and put in place the exhibition experience envisioned by their team. It was also our responsibility to create and integrate the various technologies that embody the innovation toolbox of the museum that can now be relied upon to fuel many more innovative ideas. Cortex also assumed a constant presence to assist the museum in this innovation process.

the solution

Cortex built a mobile app using React Native which runs on iOS and Android. Amongst the technologies it exploits, you will find: indoor positioning, augmented reality, multimedia, and analysis tools to provide a personalized visit experience for each visitor that will also bring art forward. The exposition managers are often faced with heart-breaking decisions to leave artefacts behind in the vault because of a lack of space, but this isn't a problem anymore! Through the My MCQ app, they can now give access to additional content. The Musée de la Civilisation de Québec now relies on game-changing tools and confirms its position as an innovator in its field.
